The Princess Who Cared About Her People

by Nelalvai

Once upon a time there was a princess who lived far, far away in a kingdom. Everybody there was never mad at each other unless it was reasonable to be angry. Lots and lots of people had flower gardens or vegetable patches. But the only place that had flowers and flowers for miles around was the castle where the little princess lived.

One time there was trouble there in that kingdom. The kingdom across the river had just been planning something. They never knew about this kingdom. And this other kingdom was planning to go to WAR.

Except the only one who knew this was the princess because she had a secret about a crystal ball. Every night before she blew out her candle she looked into her crystal ball to see the future. That's when she found all at once that she must tell her secret about the crystal ball. There was no other way to tell them the truth.

So the next morning she got up, as she always did, and went to her father with something wrapped in her apron and she said "I have had a secret for all these years and it is now time that I give it away." She took out the crystal ball from her apron. The king widened his eyes. And he said "What kind of crystal ball is it? Does it show the future, the past, or the present?" The princess replied, "It shows future. And I just discovered that we are going to be attacked from this kingdom we never knew about. I think they're an Indian kingdom. I don't know."

The king went to his royal messenger who told the soldiers what to do. The messenger went to the army of soldiers who fought wars and said "Get your shields and get your swords and everything else! We're going to have a war!"

Everybody was ready. Mothers and fathers and boys and girls and babies went underground where the safety hole was. And the soldiers fought and fought and fought until the end of the day. At the end of the day everybody went back to normal. The princess was known as A Very Smart and Good Girl. And from that day on, everybody lived Happily Ever After.

The End
